Attention Post Secondary Graduates! Get a full-time paid internship within the PRIVATE SECTOR. Gain the tools to break the vicious cycle of under-employment.

If you are a post secondary graduate up to (including) 30 years of age, you may be eligible for a full-time, paid internship in a professional environment. 

DEVELOP NEW SKILLS. Get a full-time paid internship for 16 to 40 weeks in the private sector.

GET REAL WORK EXPERIENCE. Internships are offered in a wide variety of high-demand fields such as knowledge-based technology, digital-skills, administration, the environment and more! Be part of a flexible, practical assignment geared to provide YOU with a meaningful chance to develop employment skills and prepare for a REAL JOB.

A MENTOR TO GUIDE YOU. During your internship, you'll be matched with a mentor who will act as your guide and advisor. This program could not exist and succeed without the willingness of a supervisor to welcome and share with a young intern their time, energy, wisdom, and wealth of experience.

CONNECT TO FRIENDLY YMCA SUPPORTS. This cool program is administered by the YMCA in partnership with the Federal Government.   We are looking for people who are:

  • up to and including 30 years old at the time of placement
  • a post-secondary graduate and can provide proof (2 yrs minimum) of college or university
  • unemployed or underemployed at the time of placement (yes that is a very subjective interpretation)
  • can commit to a full time internship
  • a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
  • NOT in receipt of employment insurance (EI) benefits (at time of hire). The Social Insurance Number (SIN) on your Interns on-line application form will be used by Service Canada (the funder) to verify your program eligibility

  • I am between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the time of placement;
  • I am a post-secondary graduate and can provide proof (2 yrs minimum) of college or university;
  • I am unemployed or underemployed at the time of placement;
  • I can commit to a full time internship;
  • I am a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
  • I am legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations; and
  • If you have answered yes to any of the statements above, you are eligible to participate in this internship program;

 

However if you answer yes (on-line) to the statement below, you are not eligible to participate in this program;

  • I am currently in receipt of employment insurance (EI) benefits; or I have received employment insurance (EI) benefits in the last 24 months (2 years).
