Have the same opportunities as others to live in freedom and dignity, and have the needed supports to do so. Are able to articulate and realize their dreams and rights.

The PEI Assoiciation for Community Living is seeking a Digitla Media Intern. As an Intern YOU will; 

  • Research and identify ways PEI ACL can improve their Facebook page and newly created twitter account. 
  • Provide training to staff on new and existing media trends such as twitter and instagram in order to get our message out. 
  • Offer technical and creative support to the delivery of all areas of digital information tools. This includes the preparation and implementation of mass emails, blog, texting, website content, social media content, pictures,video and audio content. 
  • Participate in 2 Project Funded Programs (The R Word and I am Norm). R word is to get students in intermediate school to pledge to stop using the R Word.  I am Norm is meeting with a group of disabled and non disabled students in High School and discuss and redefine what Normal means to them. The sessions will be videotaped and later compiled and used as information tool for future awareness opportunities. 
  • Be responsible for editing digital video/formats into an educational tools for Youtube, Facebook and Family meetings/Expos across PEI. 

Pending funding approval of a Social Marketing campaign to start April 1st, 2013, you will participate as a member of the Social Marketing Campaign Committee and work with Consultants 'Technomedia PEI' on the development and implementation of a Social Media Campaign for PEI ACL. 

  • Assist the Executive Director in making technology decisions such as equipment and tools for staff;
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment; 
  • Work independently in a dynamic organization
  • Conduct social media and web research; 
  • Deomonstrate analysis and basic skills in social media connectivity
  • Be involved in other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
