As an early stage technology start-up our growth is going to be heavily influenced by the people we engage, so we have a strong commitment towards mentorship and training of our hires. As our Intern you will be working closely with the core team to set the design direction for the services and product business of our company. We are approaching this internship with the intent to offer the intern a continuing position with the company after the successful completion of the internship.

In this role, you will be interfacing with and reporting directly to Obaid Ahmed, who is OAK's Chief Technology Officer.

  • Start every day with a daily meeting with Obaid to revisit the design road-map and to review the deliverables planned for the day. We will be using this time to discuss in detail design best practices - including current and emerging trends, competitor offerings, open source technology stacks, web standards, creative support tools, video/digital offerings, advances in social web etc – key elements of OAK’s design practice that would be introduced to the intern to appreciate and understand the product design process.
  • These open dialogues will also create rich opportunities for establishing goals, understanding training needs, transfer of knowledge and developing key business intelligence.
  • These meetings will also review and discuss key learning objectives on an on-going basis as well as revisit her comfort/challenges with her defined responsibilities. Any training needs will be identified and potential training possibilities – internal or external – will be discussed.
  • Your interface with the rest of the OAK team is very important for us and you will be spending a significant amount of time under the direct mentorship of Manu Sharma, Managing Partner of OAK Computing.
