Does My Organization Qualify for DSYIP?

In order for an organization to particpate in the Digital Skills Youth Internship Program (DSYIP) employers must; 

  • be a Private, Nonprofit, Charitable or Public Secor Organization operating in Canada,
  • have been in operation for a minimum of 2 years,
  • have a minimum of 5 full-time employees,
  • Must have (and provide proof of) WSIB or equivalent and a minimum of $2 million general liability insurance
  • maintain acceptable record keeping, allowing the YMCA to audit and monitor the progress of the internship,
  • operate from a commercially leased/owned space where the intern will have an appropriate work area,
  • conduct an organization and position orientation training plan, including Young Worker Awareness related to Occupational Health & Safety,
  • ensure staff are aware of and complies with applicable legislation with respect to Human Rights, Harassment and Discrimination,
  • Hosts will enter into a Host Service Agreement with the YMCA and all required documents must be in place prior to intern commencing internship,
  • be licensed to operate according to municipal/provincial/territorial/federal regulations.
